Programs for Families at the Pima Air and Space Museum

An entrepreneur for more than five decades, Lew McGinnis sold his first business at the age of 16. Now a successful real estate investor based in Nichols Hills, Oklahoma, Lew McGinnis has sat on the boards of a number of organizations. He previously served as the director of the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona.

The Pima Air and Space Museum is one of the largest privately owned aviation museums in the world. Located on an 80-acre campus, the museum’s collection features more than 350 vintage aircraft and a large number of indoor exhibits. The museum offers a number of programs for children and families, including the following:

Soarin’ Saturdays - A monthly event that allows visitors to learn about aviation, build model airplanes, and experiment with the principles of rocketry and flight.

The Great Paper Airplane Fly-Off - An annual event for children between ages 6 and 14. Those who can throw their paper airplane the farthest within each age group are awarded a 60-minute flight over Tucson and a tablet computer.
The Night of Fright - A family-centered Halloween event that brings frightful fun to the museum’s hangars. Kids can wear their costumes and participate in a variety of fun Halloween-themed activities.
