Supporting medical research and treatment as well as essential public education programs, City of Hope operates in the service of individuals with cancer, diabetes, and other serious diseases. One of the organization’s key areas of focus is the use of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy to mitigate cancerous growth.
CAR T cell therapy is a powerful form of immunotherapy – an approach to cancer treatment that draws upon the natural processes of the patient’s immune system to fight cancer. City of Hope does its part to advance CAR T therapies by employing its proprietary CAR T modalities in a range of preclinical and clinical programs. The organization also partners with academic researchers to advance clinical study in key areas and with global biopharmaceutical companies to make CAR T therapies available to patients.
